PEACE |
The PEACE program provides home-based counseling services to families who are at risk of
having their children placed in out-of-home care. The program also strives to reunify families.
- Referrals come from DCS and the Marion County Probation Department.
- Provides home-based counseling services to families who are at risk of having
their child(ren) removed due to abuse, neglect, or delinquency (prevention).
- Also provides home-based services to families that have had their child(ren) removed
and are in the process of regaining custody (reunification).
- Services offered include counseling, parenting education, home maker
skills, case management, school and/or employment liaison and advocacy,
and referrals and linkages to other service providers as needed.
- Availability of psychiatric consultation when needed.
- Referrals for child care vouchers if eligible.
- Availability for summer youth employment for teens, ages 14 to 17.
- Short term respite also available to clients.
- Program goals are to improve internal support systems, to prevent the placement of children outside the home setting due to either being CHINS'd or designated delinquent, or to minimize the stay in such placements, to empower the families to recognize and prevent abuse and neglect, and to aid families in replacing damaging parenting techniques.
