Volunteer Resources
Welcome to Children's Bureau Volunteer Resources!
Thank you for your interest in volunteer opportunities with Children's Bureau! Our program organizes activities into four classifications:
Direct Contact** Volunteers:
Volunteers work hand-in-hand with our staff, providing services to our clients once a month or more. As an example, volunteers may be organizing a Saturday activity for the children in our Children's Shelter or working on life skills with our group home youth.
Indirect Contact Volunteers:
Volunteers provide the much needed behind-the-scenes support for our programs. Positions might include research for Advocacy, assembling training materials for foster parent certification classes, mass mailing production, or general clerical.
Special Event Volunteers:
Volunteers for our Special Events love to party! In an effort to raise funds for our programs, Children's Bureau hosts several large special events: The Tom Zupancic Golf "Fore" Kids, or the Children's Bureau Celebrity Cookoff.  There are are also several smaller events throughout the year where volunteers are called upon to lend a hand such as appreciation picnics, recognition events, and advocacy training, to name just a few.
Service Group Volunteers:
Service Groups also enjoy supporting the agency through a variety of one-time service projects. Groups are from churches, schools, philanthropic orgainizations, scouts, or community outreach programs. We work with these groups to develop a project that fits their objectives and the needs of a Children's Bureau program. A project might be a supply drive, a spring spruce-up in a facility (cleaning, moving mulch, trash pick-up, etc.), creating birthday cards, or organizing a party for a group home. These projects are an opportunity to let your group's imagination and talents really shine!

Great!

For the safety of our clients, staff and volunteers, we have a volunteer application/screening process. Please contact us and we will discuss our volunteer policies and procedures and the volunteer opportunities that fit your interests and schedule.
We hope you find an opportunity listed that fits your time and talents. However, if you don't see what you're looking for, please contact us. We are always interested in exploring new and creative ways to involve our community friends and partners!
