you
know about, specifically how legislation will help or hurt
families and children in need. Your legislators are elected
to represent their constituents, so therefore, they need
your feedback on proposed legislation.
If
you want your elected officials to represent your wishes
on a particular topic, they need to hear from you. The fundamentals
of contacting your elected officials are so reasonable you'll
wonder why you haven't done it (or more of it) before!
Remember,
you can make the difference in children's and families lives.

Throughout our agency's 154-year history
of serving the best interest of children and families,
efforts have been made to encourage policy changes
that assure a brighter future for our young. In keeping
with that legacy, Children's Bureau's board and staff
share this public policy agenda to inform and encourage
others to voice their opinions about the needs of
vulnerable children and their families. The priorities
and positions in this document are to be used as a
general guide to improve public policies for children
in our community. We encourage other agencies and
policy makers to support these positions.
