Electronics Donations  

Thank you for your willingness to donate computers and electronic equipment to the Children's Bureau!

The Children's Bureau can accept donations of computers (no printers, faxes or other electronics please) with the following specifications.

Pentium 3 Processor or above.

  The processor type is usually marked on the outside, front of the computer.

650 Megahertz or above.

  The processor speed can be found by clicking Start/Control Panel and clicking on the "System" icon. The processor speed will be found under the "General" folder tab at the bottom of the window. It will be expressed as either Mhz (Megahertz or million cycles per second) or Ghz (Gigahertz or billion cycles per second).

10 Gigabyte Hard Drive

  The hard drive capacity can be found by clicking Start, My Computer then RIGHT clicking on your computer's hard drive (Usually C:) then click properties. The drive's capacity will be expressed as GB (Gigabytes).

Monitors

  Minimum 17", with a sharp and bright image.

Major Manufacturer (HP, Compaq, Dell, etc.)

  Children's Bureau recycles discarded electronics through the Virtual Scavengers Project.

The Virtual Scavengers Project protects the environment by keeping computers and other electronics out of landfills and puts them in the hands of those who need them. They also provide training and workforce development opportunities for the underserved.
