Only Foster Parents referred to the Day Care by the Department
of Child Services (DCS) or Youth
Emergency Services (YES) will be able to use the
Foster Care Day Care services.

Foster
Care Day Care is designed as a TEMPORARY
means to help Foster Parents who are working for
an employer until they can transition to other
means of child care.
The
program IS NOT a long-term day care solution or
a sitter service.
The
child must have recently been placed into the
Foster Home. The day care cannot be utilized by
a child that has been in a foster home for a while
or if the foster parent needs a sitter.
The
day care will provide services for the child until
day care through the Child
Care Development Fund (CCDF) becomes available.
The Foster Parent will need to get on the CCDF
waiting list. In order to continue to receive
services, the Foster Parent must be on the waiting
list.
|
|
Foster
Care Day Care is provided free of charge; however, the
Foster Parent will need to sign up for the Child
Care Development Fund (CCDF) program.
If
the caregiver is a relative, we will provide two weeks
of day-care for the relative with the stipulation that
they are working for an employer. After that time, the
relative will need to make other arrangements for the
care of the child.
It should be noted, only two weeks of services will
be provided for relatives while they seek a permanent
day care for the child. At this point in time, the CCDF
program cannot be used by a relative.
