The Terre Haute Youth Intervention Center (THYIC) is a community-based residential treatment facility located in Vigo County. THYIC is a 12 bed non-profit open residential program for males ages 6-21. The center accepts residents with a wide range of emotional, social, familial, educational and legal difficulties.Our emphasis is to maintain the child in the community while he develops the skills necessary for a successful reunification with the family.

Programming is designed to meet the individual needs of each child. Services include Individual, Group and Family Therapy; Life Skills Training; Independent Living Skills Training; Community-Based Recreation; Employment Opportunities;Transportation Assistance for Residents and Familiies (THYIC Related); Regular Contact With Family and Weekly home Passes. Educational Services are provided by the Vigo County School Corporation. For eligible students, the Covered Bridge Special Education District assists with programming based on identified needs. The center provides a structured, consistent and safe environment for children to test the skills and behaviors they have learned while working on their individualized treatment plans.

Thr goal of the center is to reunify children with their families after they have completed their treatment.
