What We Do...

Families are referred to NACS by individuals, local Department of Child Services, community organizations, schools, police, and through self-referral.
Once referred, families voluntarily take part in the program. NACS Neighborhood Liaison and the family work together to create family goals and action plans.
The Neighborhood Liaison will link families with programs, services, people and activities which will help strengthen families and lower family stress.

How We Do It...

NACS provides free home based counseling and case management services for families.
Our services range from parent support and education, fun parent night out events to connection with crisis emergency assistance. Services are tailored to meet each individual family need.
NACS involves the community in helping families cope with challenges which may lead to family dysfunction.

Why We Do It...

Our community believes that protecting children by providing families with supportive services is the responsibility of a caring neighborhood. This is why we believe that children's safety is a community affair!

Our Supporters...

NACS is a collaborative effort between the Indiana Family Social Service Administration, Department of Child Services and the Marion County Superior Court-Juvenile Division.

How Can You Help?

In order to meet the needs of our families, we need community assistance. By partnering with us through our Neighborhood Partners program, you can become a part of the solution. Neighborhood Partners support families by listening to them, encouraging their positive efforts, helping them identify and build upon strengths and/or skills and connecting them with other families and community organizations.

Our Neighborhood Partners - Individuals from the community who work to develop our neighborhood capacity to care and safeguard our children and families by: organizing neighborhood events and functions involving families; organizing parent support groups; identifying families at risk of abuse and referring them to the Neighborhood Liaisons; raise community awareness on child safety issues.

Our Natural Helpers - People who offer informal support to neighborhood families by: supporting daily activities to strengthen families, reduce or prevent harm to children; respond to calls and referrals about families in need; visit, support and help families in their homes.

If you would like to become a Neighborhood Partner please contact Jennifer Kinnaman, Assistant Director - Outreach (317) 951-8476, email: jkinnaman@childrensbureau.org.
