The Children’s Bureau, Inc. Board of Directors today announced that Tina Cloer has been named as its new President and CEO. The selection was made after an extensive national search process. Cloer replaces Ron Carpenter, who left the Children’s Bureau in August after 16 years as President.
“We are very pleased to announce this appointment”, said Mike Newbold, Chairman of the Board. “Tina’s multi-faceted experience within Indiana’s child welfare system is exemplary and her passion is evident. Her leadership skills and operations knowledge, coupled with her outstanding fiscal oversight and strategic planning experience will bring great success to the Children’s Bureau.
For the past 17 years, Tina has been with Adult and Child Mental Health, a provider of mental health and child welfare programs in Indianapolis and central Indiana. During her tenure she has served in various roles, including her current senior leadership position as Director of Child and Adolescent Services. While at Adult and Child, she was instrumental in expanding access to high-quality mental health services for needy children and their families in Marion and Johnson Counties, focusing specifically on children who have a history of suffering various types of trauma. Cloer received a Master of Science in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University, completed Graduate Course Work in Rehabilitation Psychology at Purdue University and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/English at DePauw University. She is married and the mother of three children.
“I have spent my entire career helping children and families in need. This mirrors Children’s Bureau’s history of helping endangered children in Indiana. With this shared vision, thousands of Indiana’s most vulnerable children will be fed, clothed, counseled, protected and inspired to be more,” remarked Cloer. She begins her role at Children’s Bureau on January 2, 2013.
