Youth Institute explains drug dangers

The Indiana Youth Institute will hold its Youth Worker Café event with a luncheon presentation titled “The Effects of Methamphetamine Use Among Youth.”

The event is scheduled for Feb. 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Crawfordsville District Public Library. A free lunch will be provided. All youth workers, parents, community leaders, youth ministers, educators, counselors and others working to impact the well-being of youth and families are encouraged to attend.

Indiana State Trooper Shilo Raulston will be the featured speaker. Raulston is a member of the Indiana State Police Methamphetamine Suppression Section.

Raulston and other MSS team members will outline the effects of the drug as well as discuss the growing problem with youth involvement with the drug in Indiana.

Community partners for this event are Children’s Bureau, Inc., Department of Child Services, Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau, Community Foundation of Montgomery County and Drug Free Montgomery County Coalition.
