St. Louis, MO (February 1, 2018) – Weekends in Greenwood are going to change for the better in two short weeks.
On February 16, Weekends Only will begin its four-day grand opening event at their new Greenwood location at 8850 South Emerson Avenue. This marks the second location in the Indianapolis region, and the seventh overall, for the company that provides customers wall-to-wall lowest prices on a huge selection of quality furniture and mattresses.
And the most exciting part? Customers who attend the grand opening events held Friday, February 16 through Monday, February 19 will have a chance to win the grand prize: a complete room makeover (winner’s choice of bedroom, living room or dining room) valued up to $2,000, with help from a professional Weekends Only design expert. Customers may enter for a chance to win in-store Friday through Monday, up to one entry per hour.
“The Grand Prize is exciting because you can do a lot with $2,000 at Weekends Only, thanks to the wide selection of furniture and mattresses and the low prices we offer customers,” said Lane Hamm, Weekends Only President. “A lucky winner in the Indy community will get a well-appointed room, full of furniture, and our designer will help bring their concept to life.”
The grand opening event will also feature hourly drawings for $50 gift cards, free giveaway items, refreshments and even a kids’ area. Customers who arrive within the first hour on each of the four days can be entered for a chance to win a 72” Ashley fireplace entertainment center, complete with a 50” flat-screen TV.
Hamm and the Weekends Only team are excited to reinforce the brand’s concept in the Greenwood market area: The store is only open on weekends to save customers money on a wide variety of furniture and mattresses.

“Customers can expect everyday low pricing,” said Hamm of the shopping experience. “That means you’re not paying extra for financing or hearing another gimmicky ad about our latest sale. We don’t play any games with our prices.”
The 65,000-sq. ft. retail space at County Line and Emerson Avenue—formerly a Kroger grocery store—will be divided into a 45,000-sq. ft. showroom and a 20,000-sq. ft. space for storage and customer pickup.
At Weekends Only’s new Greenwood store, customers will find a pleasant shopping experience led by a friendly, non-commissioned sales staff of 60 employees. Indy-native Jeanette Cleveland will be the General Manager. Previously GM of the Castleton location, Cleveland brings decades of retail management experience to Weekends Only.
“We offer the basics, all the way up to something you intend to have for quite a while,” remarked Hamm. “Another difference for Weekends Only is that paid delivery is not required. Customers can pick up their items in the designated pickup area, in many cases the same or next business day, and should they require home delivery, there is only one flat fee with no limit to the number of items delivered.”
To kick off the grand opening celebration, Weekends Only will contribute 1% of its sales over the next 6 weeks to benefit the Children’s Bureau, Inc., a private, nonprofit child and family services agency whose mission is to “preserve families and protect the future of Indiana’s children.” The Children’s Bureau, Inc. serves several counties in the area, including Johnson County where the Greenwood store is located.
The opening of the Greenwood location and the event itself are testaments to the Weekends Only team’s hard work and excitement to continue growing in the Indy market.
“We’re committed to Indianapolis as a community,” said Hamm. “We look forward to giving more Indy shoppers an opportunity to save money on furniture and mattresses.”
