The Auxiliary is dedicated to providing and assisting the Children’s Bureau, Inc. with funds and voluntary services including direct involvement with the children, fundraising activities, clerical work and interpreting the work of the Bureau to the community.
Meetings and Committees
Meetings are held in September, October, November, February, April and May. Options for working directly with clients and staff include serving on a committee or volunteering at the Family Support Center with children in the crisis shelter. Members may also participate in several internal committees such as the newsletter or the wish list.
Fundraising events include the Angel Fund Patrons Drive, the Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show. Each is coordinated by a committee of Auxiliary members. The thousands of dollars raised each year provide funds for refurbishing CB facilities, sending kids to summer camp, assisting with special client needs, and staff education.
New Member Orientation
New members learn about the Auxiliary and the work of Children’s Bureau through a mentoring relationship with a current member and through meetings and committee work.
- New member responsibilities include committee service, annual dues of $50 and attendance at as many meetings as possible.
- Active member (2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th year in the Auxiliary) responsibilities include committee service, $50 annual dues and attendance at as many meetings as possible.
- Associate member (6th, 7th and 8th year in the Auxiliary) responsibilities include committee service, $50 annual dues and attendance at as many meetings as possible.
